Dear SFC Jax,

Praise be to God for all the blessings He has bestowed on us all and all the trials He has put us through to make us stronger!!! We’ve had an eventful year so far and we have more events coming up that you can participate in and be excited about.

First off, we are going to enliven the SFC website and Facebook pages so you’ll always be in the know. If you are interested in volunteering your talent (writing, blogging, coding, design, etc) with this, please let Danny and me know.

I want to take this opportunity to say thank you again to all those who supported and gave your time, talent and treasure to the Valentine’s Fundraiser. This was one amazing way of giving back to the community and helping those less fortunate than us. We are planning more corporal works of mercy events (eg, HabiJax) so we can continue to have a presence in the community. If you are interested in being part of the planning committee on one or more projects, then please let me know.

We’re going to continue our routine meeting schedule:

- 1st Friday Adoration
Location: Assumption Catholic Church and/or Holy Spirit Catholic Church
Time: 7:00pmunless otherwise stated

- 2nd Friday SFC Household Meeting

- 2nd Saturday General Teaching Night

In lieu of an organized fellowship this weekend,SFC Florida will be having it’s annual Sportsfest on next Saturday, May 1st in Orlando. For more details, please check previous emails from Dobbie. If you’re interested in carpooling, please contact your household leader or reply to me.

Next, Holy Spirit Catholic Church will be having it’sannual 3-day Bazaar, which will begin Friday, April 30 and end on Sunday, May 2 at Holy Spirit Church (11665 Fort Caroline Rd, Jax, FL 32225,904-641-7244). Check out the event details on Facebook:http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=118519754827774&ref=mf

We are planning on having an informational booth/table about our ministry during the bazaar on Sunday. We need volunteers to work in shifts to help pass out flyers and be available to talk with anyone interested in one of our ministries. The bazaar on Sunday is from 12-4pm. If you can help with the making of the 3-fold posterboard and/or volunteering the day of, please contact me.

In addition, all the ministries of Holy Spirit parish are being asked to donate an item(s) for the silent auction, which will be held on the last day of the bazaar, Sunday, May 2nd. At our recent SFC Core mtg, we decided to create a (themed) basket to donate to the silent auction. We can donate both tangible items (eg, wine, wine glasses, picnicware, books) and intangible items (eg, gift certificate for massage or another type of service coupon like lawn service). If you’re interested in helping with this project and/or donating an item(s), please contact me. We need to try to have the items in by next Tues 4/27.

And last, but not least, please mark your calendars for the National SFC conference in Hawaii during Labor Day weekend. More info will be shared at a later date.

I look forward to seeing everyone at our upcoming meetings and events.

Take care and Godspeed+

Live out Loud

For weeks now, Live-Out-Loud (LOL) has been saturating our facebook status, mailbox, calendar, blog, twitter, tumblr, etc., en masse.  Some of you got curious, others were status quo but most people were excited about the events that were unfolding.  SFCJax has taken the Christian Life Program (CLP) from a traditional event into a more out-of-the-ordinary and deeper  personal-level experience.  Notwithstanding the challenges of being a single, we attested that we can live a full life with a rock-solid faith and with the support of our family and community.  The bond that was formed promised a new beginning, a new direction, a new era.  Kudos to our LOL Core group led by our fearless leader Immanuel/Noel/Weng, the Live-Out-Loud Finale brought sheer joy that reduced any doubts about the future to nothing.

Help me in welcoming the new addition to our family, Sharon, Glenn and Armand!  Thank you for sharing your lives with us.  We are blessed to have you in SFC.  It was such a rewarding experience to witness the miracles of God in each of you.

Family for LIFE April 30, 2009

My dear brothers and sisters,

The Church Coordinator for the Diocese of St. Augustine, Trudy, has asked me and Dunn to form a team that will commit to standing up for LIFE and participate in our local community.  I know Danny Schell has been helping organize this too.  They are tapping on CFC Family Ministry because they know that we are pro-GOD, pro-FAMILY, pro-POOR and pro-LIFE which is humbling that our name alone is a testimony of our love for God.  But when we can live up to our name, that’s when we start to truly make a difference.

There are approximately 3,700 babies getting aborted every day in the U.S. alone (http://www.abortionno.org/Resources/fastfacts.html).  I don’t believe the parents will let these children get killed if they know that Jesus is real and that Jesus is LIFE.  Our work of evangelization is clearly more urgent out there in the sidewalk.  It’s amazing and wonderful that we worship God in our churches.  Let’s continue to do that but even more so let’s go out and tell the world of HIS love.

I thank those who have been involved in the past 40 Days for Life prayer rallies.  We now have a family for LIFE that prays in front of Planned Parenthood every Friday and Saturday from 6:30am to 9:30am.  You don’t have to be out there the whole time.  It’s great if you can but at least stop by and say a prayer.  Join us brothers and sisters.  Don’t look at your service as a burden but rather as an opportunity to express your love to Our Heavenly Father.

God bless,

Bel
