Singles For Christ
“…Behold, I make all things new.”
Inspired by the song “For You Make All Things New” and the second reading from Revelation last Sunday, it providentially became the theme of the recently concluded Christian Life Program this past weekend. Not only did God fill the place with His grace, he filled our hearts and our lives with His love.
There were many testimonies that showed how the Holy Spirit was powerfully moving. As one of our beautiful sisters said, “All the tears in the room spoke volumes.” It was a humbling experience to witness the hand of the Lord at work.
There was no question that God called His people by name. Welcome to the SFC family Michelle, Eric, Wendy, Sherwin and Mel!
Thank you to all the service team members especially to our team leaders: Joe and Ariel, who worked tirelessly in preparing for the CLP. We’re also grateful to our CFC family for praying for us and for supporting us through your generous donation of time, talent and treasure. Special acknowledgement to the following families for feeding us Friday and Saturday: Broadhurst, Cabezas, Sumbeling, Paterno, Navarro and Masinsin. We also appreciate all the prayer warriors all over the world.
We give the honor and glory to God!
Every Christian is challenged, here and now, to be actively engaged in evangelization; indeed, anyone who has truly experienced God’s saving love does not need much time or lengthy training to go out and proclaim that love.
“Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior”
We often hear God in the silence of our hearts. This is why we go on retreat to literally withdraw ourselves from the clamor of our busy lives. Praise God for another opportunity to nourish our devotion, our love of God, and our fervor in doing His will through the Covenant Weekend Retreat that was held last May 31st and June 1st! Thanks to everyone who took the time to renew his/her commitment with the Lord!
It is humbling and at the same time rewarding to serve God through this ministry with an awesome service team that was led by our SFC Florida Coordinators: Bro Nonon and Sis Arnie.
With love and prayers,
Jon, Bel and Nate
Welcome to the new Singles for Christ Jacksonville (SFC Jax) website! My name is Joe Cataulin and I am a new member to SFC in Jacksonville, FL. I just joined SFC last November, 2013.
I recently attended an SFC Jax Joint Household Meeting on Friday, March 21st at Ate Bel and Kuya Jon Masinsin’s home. The Masinsins are the new coordinators of SFC Jax. The evening started at 7pm with fellowship as Brothers and Sisters greeted each other upon arrival. Everybody brought a potluck dish to share. After most everyone had arrived, I led the blessing of the meal. The food was delicious!
After everyone ate, we had praise and worship music. We sang a few songs, glorifying and honoring the Lord. We thanked and praised Him for all of His blessings. We also asked for Him to forgive us for our sins. We humbly prayed for other’s needs as well as for our own prayer intentions.
After praise and worship and prayer, we gathered in the living room to watch Christopher West speak on John Paul the 2nd’s Theology of the Body. Christopher West is best-selling author, speaker and teacher of JPII’s fine work. Theology of the Body reminds us that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and we must honor and respect our bodies. As Brothers and Sisters in Christ, we must strive to live chaste, pure, holy and virtuous lives in accordance with the Roman Catholic’s teachings on human sexuality. Theology of the Body teaches us that our deepest desires of body and soul are meant to lead us to the infinite, to God Himself!
After the video, we discussed what we learned. We also honored our outgoing SFC coordinators, Ate Mishiel and Kuya Gerry Paterno. As a group, we thanked them for their many years of service to SFC. We also celebrated Ate Mishiel’s birthday. More food, fun and fellowship continued throughout the night until we all went home. What a great way to start off the year in our first joint Household! Looking forward to the rest of the year with SFC 🙂 To God be the Glory!
We are so blessed that God has called us to be your new SFC coordinators. Having gone through this ministry ourselves, SFC is indeed very close to our hearts. It goes without saying that we are overjoyed! It is our hope that our experience with both SFC and CFC will help us lead you closer to God.
We do want to take this opportunity to honor Kuya Gerry and Ate Mishiel. They have definitely done an amazing job as your SFC coordinators. For a brief time before we transitioned to CFC, they were our coordinators too so we know firsthand that they are just awesome! We will never be able to fill their shoes. The good news is we still know where they live :). And we’re pretty sure that they will always be there for you, for us. They are not going anywhere. If anything you have just gained a new family in us. Please treat us like your big sister, big brother, mom, dad, friend and anything in between. Our house will always be open to you. At our very first joint household meeting at our house last Friday, Nate already fell in love with you all so we’re looking forward to building more wonderful memories with you.
May we all challenge one another to take ownership of SFC and to be accountable to the calling that God has entrusted upon all of us. “Remember you will only receive a harvest in proportion to what you’ve sown for. So sow “big,” sow plenty, sow well, and your harvest will surely satisfy your soul with sweet fruit.”
Cheers to a great year!
With love and prayers,
Jon, Bel and Nate
